Preserving Nature for Future Generations

At Lake Brunner Eco Lodge, we are committed to preserving the natural beauty and biodiversity of our surroundings. Our approach to sustainability is woven into every aspect of our operations, ensuring that we minimise our environmental footprint while offering guests an unforgettable luxury experience immersed in the wilderness of the West Coast.

Hydro Power Scheme

We are proud to power the lodge through our very own power scheme, harnessing the energy of flowing water from nearby Carew Creek. This renewable energy solution provides clean, reliable power for the lodge, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and ensuring that our operations remain sustainable year-round.

Bottle Crushing for Recycling

To further our commitment to reducing waste, we have implemented an on-site bottle crushing system. This allows us to significantly minimise the volume of glass waste and recycle it more efficiently. By doing so, we are actively contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

We will be using the crushed glass in the near future to create walking tracks on the lodge grounds for our guests to explore the wilderness of the West Coast.

Pest Trapping Initiatives

We are dedicated to protecting the local wildlife and native ecosystems. Our pest trapping initiatives focus on reducing the population of invasive species, helping native birds and plants thrive. This initiative aligns with our broader goal of preserving the natural balance of the Lake Brunner region.

Eco-Friendly Consumables

All consumables at the lodge are carefully selected to meet eco-friendly standards. We have researched and weighed up luxury with eco-friendly to provide consumables that balance the needs of our guests and our environment.

Natural Cleaning Products

To maintain a healthy and toxin-free environment, we use only natural cleaning products throughout the lodge. These products are not only effective, but also safe for the environment, ensuring that no harmful chemicals enter our water systems or surrounding ecosystems.

Waste Reduction through Set Menus

At our on-site restaurant, we take a thoughtful approach to meal planning. By offering set menus, we reduce food waste and promote sustainable dining practices. This allows us to optimise ingredients, minimise leftovers, and ensure that every meal is as eco-friendly as possible.

Supporting Local Products

We proudly support local growers and producers by sourcing as many of our ingredients and materials locally as possible. This reduces our carbon footprint while also contributing to the local economy and providing guests with fresh, high-quality products that reflect the unique character of the West Coast Region.
